On the After the Battle magazine page, all the text will be
immediately visible. The accompanying colour illustrations for the covers will
take around five to six minutes to appear (on a dial up modem). There are two
versions of the books section: text only, for immediate reference, and a second

If you are interested in the Second World War and want to know how the places where it was fought appear today, in what remains to be seen and the discoveries that are still being made then After the Battle publications will interest you.
After the Battle brings military history alive as our theme is to present the battlefields as they are today using then and now comparison photography. You can view or download the PDF pages of our introduction to the 'then and now' format by clicking on the first link at the top of this page. You will need Adobe Acrobat to view this file. Most browsers usually contain the facility to view Acrobat files. Alternatively, you can download the complete program from http://www.adobe.com free of charge.
After the Battle has been published quarterly since 1973 and, as well as major battles, local actions are explored and other features include the recovery of aircraft and vehicles on land and sea, the making of war films and the preservation of military artifacts.
A detailed index to issues 1 to 140 is provided as a service to readers. There are 117 pages which can be viewed in PDF format, and any item can be searched instantly giving the issue and page number.
We also publish an extensive range of hard-back books, covering both the First and Second World Wars and even on the Zulu War in the same 'then and now' style, plus local histories.
